I honestly think the only way to sing that song is with a soaring soprano. I heard Sandi Patti's version played on someone's blog today and I just started crying over it. I figured my funeral is the only time I might have some control over the music that's played!
My favorite hymn of all time, hands down. My grandmother had this at her funeral, and being that I'd not darkened the door of a church much at all in life, it was the first time I'd heard it. It was sung by a real soprano, famous, Kate somebody. Old school gospel. I liked it then, but God and I weren't speaking then. My fault, of course. He probably was trying to talk to me, but I was sticking my fingers in my ears and "la la la"-ing. Anyway, long story short, I heard it again after starting church as a married mama. It really hit me hard then. Beautiful song!

What made you decide this exactly?
Georgia, thanks so much for visiting my blog today. Always nice to meet someone new in the blogging world!
I am an alto but have always wanted to be a soprano :) I would love to be able to do that Sandy Patty stuff! :)
Lindsay,
The short answer is: I'm a nut.

I want "Another Time and Another Place" by Sandi Patti and Wayne Watson (and a couple others).
Hopefully no time soon. ;)
